Home is where the heart is, and that includes our family and community, our shared sanctuary, our traditions and shared memories, our worst heartaches and most wonderful joys.

Home is what we make of it, and we can work together to give it a feeling and make it a place that we'll want to come back to throughout our lives, no matter how far away our adventures may take us.  Thank goodness nothing has to be hotel perfect - it just needs to be as warm and happy as we can make it.

As the site grows, you'll find some of our family philosophy, recipes, tips on deer-proof gardening, school and homework, recreation, some handy shortcuts, and a few thoughts about trying to keep everything in balance.
